Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are reportedly interested in signing Sporting winger Marcus Edwards.

Edwards, who used to play for Tottenham, won plaudits for his performances in the Champions League last season.

He scored two goals and set one up in the group stage, before registering another goal and an assist in the Europa league knockout rounds.

Meanwhile, in the Primeira Liga, he managed seven goals and five assists in 27 starts in 2022-23.

At just 24 years of age, Edwards has a bright future ahead of him and was expected to make a move back to England at some point.

However, he could now be on his way to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, according to Portuguese outlet, A Bola.

Edwards would likely take up the right-wing position at the Riyadh-based club, with Marcelo Brozovic as the 'number 10', Sadio Mane on the left and Cristiano Ronaldo up front.

This would surely make for an outstanding front four that could compete for the league title.

Al-Nassr's poor Saudi Pro League start

Al-Nassr have lost both of their league games this season, scoring just the one goal in the process.

First, they lost 2-1 to Steven Gerrard-led Al-Ettifaq, who's only high-profile name is Jordan Henderson. Sadio Mane opened the scoring that day.

While they were also beaten by Al-Taawoun 2-0 on Friday - a team without a single player familiar to European football fans.

Al-Nassr face Shabab Al-Ahli in an AFC Champions League playoff later today.
