Sky Sport Italia reports that Milan have accepted an offer from Simone Inzaghi’s Al-Hilal worth €25 million plus bonuses.

Having initially been hesitant to move to Saudi Arabia, Theo has also now given his approval to make the move.

"Al Hilal and AC Milan are in process to complete Theo Hernández deal. Club to club final steps follow player’s green light revealed today. Here we go, expected soon," Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X.

Theo to leave Milan

Milan decided to sell Theo this summer after a miserable season for both player and club.

The Rossoneri already wanted to sell Theo in January and accepted a shock €47m bid from Como but the France star rejected the move.

They have now accepted a much smaller bid this summer, as his contract has just one year to run.

Contract talks completely broke down earlier in the year and Milan decided not to reignite them.

The Frenchman has had a difficult season with the Rossoneri, struggling on the pitch and also enduring a number of off-field issues.

He did not have the best relationship with former manager Paulo Fonseca, while he has also been booed and insulted by fans.

Things reached a new low in February when Theo was widely blamed for Milan's exit from the Champions League.

Leading 1-0 in the second leg at home of their playoff tie against Feyenoord and dominating, Theo got himself sent off with a second yellow card for simulation. Feyenoord went on to equalise and go through 2-1 on aggregate.

Theo has been criticised for a lack of professionalism and motivation, with even his choice to dye his hair pink seen by some as a lack of seriousness.

Nevertheless, Theo will be remembered fondly for his overall career at Milan.

Theo was signed by AC Milan in the summer of 2019 from Real Madrid for a sum of €20m, with the legendary Paolo Maldini - then a director at Milan - the man who masterminded the deal.

At Milan he developed into one of the best left backs in Europe, making 262 appearances and scoring 34 goals.

He played a key role in Milan winning the Scudetto in 2022 and has become famous for his trademark slaloming runs down the left flank.

He was named in the Serie A Team of the Season on four occasions.

Theo has also won 38 caps for France, scoring two goals. One of these was in the semi final of the 2022 World Cup against Morocco.
