The Scottish giants have already spent €30.6 million on 12 new signings so far this summer, but they remain eager to bolster the squad at Derek McInnes’ disposal after winning just three of their first eight games so far this season.

Min-su Kim, Ivor Pandur, Vanja Dragojevic, Olwethu Makhanya, Daisuke Yokota, Ross McCrorie, James Penrice, Dan Neil, Lawrence Shankland, Cammy Devlin, Kosta Nedeljkovic (loan) and Ben Godfrey (loan) have all moved to Ibrox since the summer window opened, and Joseph could be the latest to arrive in Glasgow.

The 25-year-old scored 16 goals and provided 10 assists in 48 games last season, and Rangers are “closing in” on a deal to sign him, according to French news outlet Foot Mercato.

Ferencvaros have reportedly set their asking price at €6m, with the Hungarian outfit only willing to sanction a sale if they receive a lofty bid.

Next deal agreed

Rangers’ reported interest in Joseph comes after they agreed a €10.5m deal to sign Portland Timbers forward Kevin Kelsy.

When asked if he was surprised by the fee that Rangers will pay for the Venezuela striker, former Portland Timbers manager Phil Neville said (via Glasgow Times): “No, because he's a star.

“When you look at the attributes needed to play at the top, top level - it's not just the finishing, it's not just the physique, it's his attitude.

“We landed once at one in the morning, and he went straight to the training ground to do his recovery. And he did that every week.”

Neville added: “I spoke to Rangers last week, and I said you will get someone who's not the finished article, but if you give him lots of love and let him develop, he can be a star.”

Kelsy has scored 19 goals in 63 games for Portland Timbers, including 10 since the start of the 2026 season.
