It’s understood that Rangers’ latest offer of €5.5m has been accepted by the Partizan Belgrade hierarchy, and Dragojevic is set to travel to Glasgow shortly in order to undergo a medical before being officially unveiled by the Ibrox giants.

The Serbia international, who was named Partizan Belgrade captain last year, is regarded as one of his country’s best young prospects and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has risen to €3.6m as a result of his form over the past few months.

Dragojevic made 41 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring four goals and providing four assists, and he was rewarded with his senior international debut in a friendly against Cape Verde in May.

Analysis: Rangers have backed Derek McInnes in the transfer market

Dragojevic will become Rangers’ seventh signing of the summer transfer window when his arrival is officially announced by the club, and McInnes will undoubtedly be confident of rivalling Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.

Ivor Pandur has arrived from Hull City for €7m to become the Gers’ new first-choice goalkeeper, while the defence has been bolstered by the additions of Ross McCrorie and Ben Godfrey (loan).

In midfield, Rangers have Dan Neil and Cammy Devlin on free transfers, with Dragojevic also set to arrive, with Lawrence Shankland arriving from Hearts to become their new centre forward.

Celtic, meanwhile, are yet to kickstart their summer business and with a full pre-season on the horizon, McInnes will be confident that his Rangers squad are capable of beating their arch-rivals to the title for the first time since 2021.
