Celtic's top target drops huge transfer hint
Motherwell attacker Elijah Just has admitted that he hopes his agent is “busy” amid significant transfer interest from Celtic.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a stellar debut season at Fir Park and after scoring three goals in three games at the World Cup for New Zealand, he is widely expected to secure a big-money move before the end of the summer transfer window.
Just scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 43 appearances across all competitions last season, having arrived from Danish side AC Horsens in July, and he has emerged as a top transfer target for Celtic ahead of this summer.
The Hoops are eager to bolster their ranks with additional attacking firepower before the start of the 2026-27 campaign and Just has been identified as a primary option for this role after his excellent form for Motherwell last term.
However, clubs in the Championship and Ligue 1 are also believed to be in the race to secure Just’s signature, and the 26-year-old has boosted his chances of a high-profile transfer thanks to two goals versus Iran and one against Belgium at the World Cup.
Elijah Just drops transfer hint
Speaking to New Zealand media after his nation were knocked out of the World Cup after their 5-1 loss to Belgium, Just said (via Glasgow Times): “In terms of transfer in the window, I guess that's my agent's job. I hope he is busy at the moment. I will just stay focused and keep trying to get better.”
He added: “The World Cup has given me added belief and also motivation to keep pushing. I definitely want to test myself, see how far I can go. You just want to make it to the top level.
“The Premier League is the peak, but I just want to be somewhere where I can keep playing football and enjoy myself. I have never played European football before, so that would be pretty cool, but I am pretty open to what is next.”
