Rangers face new transfer interest in winger Hamza Igamane while a former Ibrox star has claimed it was an ‘easy’ decision to leave Glasgow.

Feyenoord target Igamane

Fresh from a nomination for the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award last season, Igamane has found himself a target for several European clubs over the summer.

The 22-year-old showed promise at Ibrox last term as he scored 16 goals in 46 games and showed some flashes of brilliance. Rangers have so far managed to rebuff interest from Everton and Lille for the Moroccan, who is under contract with the Glasgow outfit until 2029.

But there is fresh interest from Feyenoord, who see the player as a potential replacement for Igor Paixao, TeamTalk reports. The Brazilian has had a €40 million price slapped on his head by but there is a strong possibility that he will move to Leeds United, who have offered around €30m for the winger.

The Premier League side are said to be optimistic of completing that move, and with Feyenoord clearly in the market for Paixao’s replacement, it appears that an official announcement is not too far away.

Rangers will not be easy to negotiate with over Igamane, though. Everton and Lille were unwilling to match their €23m (£20m) asking price.

It is unclear what Feyenoord are ready to offer for the once-capped Morocco star, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €9.2m.

Propper: Easy decision to leave Rangers

One player who has already departed Rangers is centre-back Robin Propper, who had one difficult season at Ibrox and never seemed to feature prominently in the plans of new manager Russell Martin.

The Gers have sold him back to Twente for a fee of €1.7m, and the 31-year-old admits he is glad to be home.

“With the arrival of new management and a new owner, the chances of playing time in the new season seem less likely,” Propper explained to Twente’s official website. “If your old club – where you had a great time – comes calling, the choice isn't difficult.”
