CONFIRMED: Celtic complete first summer signing as thrilling attacker jets into Glasgow

Celtic are ready to make a transfer for Benjamin Nygren official, with the Sweden international attacker set to complete his switch to the Glasgow giants.
It was confirmed last week that Anderlecht, who had also hoped to sign the Nordsjaelland player, had given up the chase for the player. They had done this because they believed that Nygren had already elected to move to Parkhead.
Sky Sports now reports that Celtic have got their man, with manager Brendan Rodgers ready to announce the arrival of the attack-minded 23-year-old.
Personal terms with Nygren had already been agreed, leaving the only sticking point as the transfer fee between the clubs.
Celtic have agreed a €2 million package to bring the exciting forward player to Parkhead, it is reported.
This represents decent value for Celtic, with Nygren boasting an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €2.1m. His worth has notably risen dramatically over the course of the last year as he was worth less than €1m in November.
The Hoops have worked quickly to take advantage of the fact that Nygren’s deal only had six months to run. It had been due to expire in December.
Benjamin Nygren: An exciting signing for Celtic
Nygren, who has three caps for his country, moves to Glasgow a man in form, having come off the back of the best season of his career. Nygren netted an impressive 16 goals across all competitions for Nordsjaelland last season, having scored 12 in the previous campaign.
He is an attacking midfielder who can play across the forward line. Most typically, though, he has been used by Nordsjaelland off the right wing, and it is in this role in which he has gained much of his success.
While his dribbling has been picked out as a particular strength, he is also known to be a defensive workhorse, making him a complete player at both ends of the field. His leadership qualities, meanwhile, were underlined by the fact he was given Nordsjaelland's captaincy towards the end of the season.
Data analytics firm SciSports compare him favourably to former Rangers player Vaclav Cerny, who spent time in the Premiership last season.
Nygren is set to be named as Celtic’s first summer signing, with the Hoops also thought to be targeting Hayato Inamura of Albirex Niigata – another player who is an exciting prospect for the Glasgow outfit.
