PSG offer Luis Enrique the first ever contract of its kind
Luis Enrique wrote his name into PSG history in 2025 as the Parc des Princes club won their first Champions League as silverware rained down in the City of Lights.
Not only did Les Parisiens produce title-winning football, but they did so with a brand of attacking play that won neutrals over with its fluid brilliance, with the climax a record-breaking 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
Now PSG are ready to reward Luis Enrique with a lifetime contract, according to AS.
PSG will offer Luis Enrique a lifetime contract
The Ligue 1 club is considering offering a “lifetime contract” to the Spaniard as recognition of the work he has done but also to underline the support and faith the club wants to put in him going forward.
Luis Enrique’s current deal at PSG expires in June 2027, but should the club get their way, the 55-year-old will be handed a new contract with indefinite length.
There is a feeling in the French capital that they have found the ideal coach, and there seems to be a mutual belief that a long-term partnership is in store.
Two challenges lie ahead
Luis Enrique faces two primary challenges at PSG currently, according to AS.
The first of these is securing his new contract, which appears to be a deal that is in good voice.
The second will be more complicated. This is to ensure that the players remain motivated to remain successful with the Ligue 1 side – something the coach has not been shy about doing by dropping star players.
“Bradley Barcola and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia already know that not running, or only running when it suits them, is pointless. They've experienced the sting of the bench and know what's in store for them,” AS points out.
PSG now want to tie Luis Enrique down permanently thanks to this approach.
