Chelsea Transfer News Today: Alex Scott plan as 'broken relationship' changes everything
All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Alex Scott, Lamine Camara and Joao Pedro.
Bold Scott strategy
Chelsea are already working on a deal for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott for next year, TEAMtalk claims.
The Blues failed to bring in a replacement for Enzo Fernandez this summer and are keen to rectify this as soon as possible. Scott remains one of their key targets after they failed to sign him due to Bournemouth's not-for-sale stance.
With interest in the England starlet only increasing, Chelsea are keen to beat the competition to the punch by pre-agreeing a deal with the Cherries for next year. Even if this bold strategy does not work, it could, at the very least, convince Scott not to sign a new contract at the Vitality Stadium.
Broken relationship with Chelsea
Chelsea are not expected to revisit the failed deal for Lamine Camara due to their "broken relationship" with AS Monaco, as per GIVEMESPORT.
The Blues believed that they had a €55 million agreement for the Senegal international in place on Deadline Day, but the Ligue 1 outfit pulled the plug on the transfer at the last minute, leaving Chelsea without a replacement for Enzo Fernandez.
The previously strong relationship between the two clubs has broken down as a result. At present, Camara's most likely destination for 2027 looks to be Liverpool rather than Chelsea.
Arsenal threat for Pedro?
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta was spotted talking to Joao Pedro after the Gunners beat Chelsea on Sunday.
The BBC has confirmed that the Brazil forward was one of the names considered by Arsenal during the summer transfer window. Chelsea, however, refused to entertain offers.
The Blues subsequently handed Pedro an improved contract, just a year after he joined the club from Brighton. Despite the fresh terms, Berta's actions suggest that Arsenal's interest isn't going away anytime soon.
Late Atcheson approach
Chelsea made a late effort to sign Blackburn Rovers defender Tom Atcheson before the summer window shut, TEAMtalk writes.
The 19-year-old has played 22 senior matches to date and is believed to be Blackburn's biggest talent since Adam Wharton, who was chased by Chelsea before he elected to join Crystal Palace.
Desperate to avoid a Wharton repeat, Chelsea tried to finalise a deal for Atcheson in the final days of the window, only to be rebuffed by Blackburn. Nevertheless, the West London club are believed to remain interested in the centre-back.
