Arsenal Transfer News Today: Joao Pedro talks as Viktor Gyokeres decision made
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Joao Pedro, Viktor Gyokeres and Willian Pacho.
Berta seeks out Pedro as interest confirmed
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta was spotted talking to Chelsea forward Joao Pedro after Sunday's clash.
The BBC has confirmed that the Brazil international was among the names on Arsenal's shortlist of targets this summer, though Chelsea refused to entertain offers.
The Blues insisted that even a world-record fee would not be enough to prise him away and eventually handed him an improved contract after just one year at the club. Barcelona also showed a strong interest in Pedro.
Gyokeres won't be axed
Arsenal will not sell Viktor Gyokeres unless they have a "top-class" replacement lined up, TEAMtalk claims.
The Sweden international's future at Arsenal is once again under scrutiny after Kai Havertz's remarkable performance against Chelsea, which prompted Jamie Carragher to state that Gyokeres will "never" replace the German.
However, despite all the talk over Gyokeres not being good enough to lead the line for Arsenal, the club continue to fully back the striker and are not considering selling him anytime soon.
Pacho interest
Arsenal scouted PSG centre-back Willian Pacho in PSG's 2-2 draw with Lille earlier this season, CaughtOffside writes.
The Ecuador international has been among Europe's most impressive defenders since trading Eintracht Frankfurt for PSG in 2024, playing a crucial role in the French giants' back-to-back European titles.
The left-footer could be a potential long-term replacement for Gabriel Magalhaes at Arsenal, but a transfer looks to be off the table for the foreseeable future. PSG announced on Friday that Pacho had signed a new contract until 2031.
Meite enquiries
Arsenal are among the clubs to have enquired about Al-Hilal striker Mohamed Kader Meite, as per TEAMtalk.
Despite strong Premier League interest, the 18-year-old Ivory Coast youth international made the surprising decision to leave Stade Rennais for Al-Hilal in January. However, he barely played after his move.
He has featured more regularly in this nascent season, but his long-term future is uncertain, presenting his Premier League suitors with a potential opportunity. He was reportedly keen to return to Europe this summer, but Al-Hilal did not want to sell.
