PSG are poised to offer Kylian Mbappe a contract worth €400 million over the next four years, according to reports in France.

Mbappe’s present deal with PSG is up at the end of the season and he is hurtling towards becoming a free agent at that point.

Real Madrid and Liverpool continue to be associated with the 25-year-old, who has remained steadfastly tight-lipped over his intentions in the summer.

PSG, meanwhile, are doing their level best to keep their all-time leading scorer, such that they are ready to offer him a record-breaking contract offer in a bid to retain him.

“I can confirm that if it was a straight choice because of money, which is rejected by his mother, PSG have no rivals,” journalist Stephane Guy told RMC, referring to Fayza Lamari, who also acts as Mbappe’s agent.

“Paris have offered him €400 million for four years.

“He earns, according to the documentary Envoye Special, €100m per year, all income combined, including his sponsorship deals. Now PSG are ready to offer him €100m in salary alone.”

Mbappe had the opportunity to join the Saudi Pro League last summer, when he was in dispute with PSG, for a contract that would have been worth €200m per season, according to reports. He rejected that offer, though, as he wanted to stay in Europe.

PSG bid eclipses European rivals

PSG’s contract offer is far more than what Mbappe would earn at Liverpool or Real Madrid, with the Ligue 1 leaders eager to get a quick resolution to the situation.

Los Blancos were reportedly so eager to know the France international’s plans that they had placed a deadline of 15 January for him to accept an offer from them, yet that date has passed with no indication whatsoever that Mbappe has agreed terms with the Bernabeu side.
