Mbappe sent clear message by PSG fans over his future

Kylian Mbappe has been told by PSG supporters that they want him to remain at the club.

In a poll conducted by Odoxa on behalf of Winamax and RTL, the attitude of the French population towards the 24-year-old superstar was studied – and it did not always come out in his favour.

Indeed, recent events that have seen Mbappe fall out with PSG over his contract extension appear to have clouded the judgement of some of the French population against the forward, who has scored 15 goals in 15 appearances for his club this season and recently notched his 300th professional strike with a spectacular effort against Gibraltar in a 14-0 win.

Nevertheless, 78% of PSG fans want to see him stay with the Parc des Princes beyond the end of his contract in June 2024.

Mbappe has been linked with a string of clubs, including Manchester United and Al-Ittihad, but Real Madrid have been most closely associated with the player.

Indeed, 71% of PSG fans expect him to leave as a free agent come June, which should offer something of a boost to Los Blancos.

Mixed results for Mbappe

France fans see Mbappe as an important player to their hopes of landing the Euro 2024 title next summer.

As many as 69% of supporters of the national team believe he is the best player in the squad and 63% say that he is essential if Didier Deschamps’ side are going to win the European Championship in Germany. On top of this, 68% report that they think Mbappe is fulfilling his job as captain well.

On the flip side, only 63% if the general population find him likeable, which is significantly down on the 80% figure reported in 2019, shortly after he had played a key role in leading France to the World Cup in Russia. Equally, only 47% believe that he show humility.
