REVEALED: Mbappe's asking price as Real Madrid and Man Utd circle

Kylian Mbappe’s price tag has been set after the news that he may be leaving Paris Saint-Germain this window.

The striker reportedly informed the club that he would not be taking up the option of another Indeed, he sent, meaning that they will in all likelihood sell him this summer. Already there have been links with Real Madrid and Manchester United.

While his price has been revealed with journalist Julien Laurens claiming that PSG want €150million for Mbappe this summer.

Now he has released a statement addressing the situation.

He wrote: "The board has been informed since July 15th, 2022 of my decision not to extend beyond 2024, and the letter sent was only meant to confirm what I already told them."

It means that the bombshell news of him leaving was already known by PSG already.

Mbappe heading for the exit

The Times report that a number of Premier League sides are expected to register their interest, including Chelsea and Man Utd, reports The Times.

The attacker told PSG that he does not want to extend his contract beyond 2024, meaning it is likely he will be sold this summer.

Chelsea and Manchester City looked at the player last year, but Pep Guardiola’s men have since signed Erling Haaland.

Real Madrid would appear to be the favourites and reports have suggested as such. Erik ten Hag’s side is another option as they are in the hunt for a world-class No.9

Indeed, in a potentially huge shake-up of the transfer market, it means that the Ligue 1 champions could seriously entertain offers for Mbappe over the next couple of months to avoid losing him for nothing.

Per Fabrizio Romano, Mbappe has told PSG that he doesn’t intend to trigger the option of an extra year on top of his current deal.

Romano adds that unless PSG can convince Mbappe to agree on an extension now, it is possible that he will be sold.

And one club likely to be particularly interested in the 2018 World Cup winner’s situation are Real Madrid: Los Blancos have tried to sign Mbappe in the past – and are currently in the market for a new elite striker after Karim Benzema’s shock decision to join Al-Ittihad.
