Back in October, stories emerged that Kylian Mbappe was unhappy with the Paris Saint-Germain management and that he wanted to leave the club.

This came just five months after he agreed to a new contract to remain at PSG, shunning off interest from Real Madrid to stay with the French champions.

Immediately after the news broke, it was reported clubs were looking to snap Mbappe away from PSG and there were more questions over his future yet again.

Now, it’s been said that the stories back in October were false and that there was something else that annoyed Mbappe, creating a rift with the management at the club.

Mbappe angry over late pay

According to L’Equipe, Mbappe was furious over the fact that he was paid late by PSG, and that his full remuneration for the month of September hadn’t been received on time.

Mbappe’s entourage then asked for explanations as to why this was the case but they didn’t get the answers they wanted, however, the matter has been resolved since.

When the club were contacted, they had a statement planned: “The club had paid all the individual salaries and bonuses due to date to the player. As in all clubs, sometimes there are delays due to payment terms.”

Mbappe noticed he hadn’t been paid on 5 October, just before his side’s Champions League clash against Benfica in Lisbon, to which he was surprised.

He gave them the benefit of the doubt, but the issue was raised again on October 11 and grew frustrated, before receiving a partial payment a few days later.

Mbappe was still unclear over when he would receive the full payment but he got it soon after, and the issue is now resolved, with life carrying on as normal for player and club.

The Frenchman is now focused on the World Cup as he hopes to defend the crown he won with Les Bleus four years ago in Russia.
