Wanda Nara and Mauro Icardi have been married since 2014, but the pair may be splitting up. On Saturday night, Wanda Nara – who is Icardi’s agent as well as his wife – unfollowed the player on Instagram and deleted all photos of the pair. She then wrote “another family you have ruined for a b**ch” on an Instagram story.

If the couple are splitting up, this could be a major fork-in-the-road moment for Icardi’s career. The Argentina striker is currently at PSG, but is having to fight for every minute after the summer arrival of Lionel Messi and the club’s decision to keep Kylian Mbappé.

Icardi’s name is regularly mentioned when it comes to transfer rumours involving any top European club and, at least until now, it had been Wanda Nara handling any negotiations.

Icardi and the potential transfer to Newcastle

The latest club to be linked with a move for the 28-year-old centre-forward was Newcastle United, following the club’s takeover last week. However, reports from Italy claimed that a move to England wasn’t an option because Wanda Nara didn’t want to leave Paris.

If the pair are splitting up, then Icardi could become a realistic option for Newcastle United’s new project. Scoring at a rate of one goal every 134 minutes over the course of his senior career, the Argentine is one of the most reliable strikers the Premier League side could pursue in the upcoming transfer windows.

If Icardi is to move away from the Parc des Princes and if the reports of his split from Wanda Nara are true, it could be a complicated transfer. However, the player has worked with other agents before and it was Gabriele Giuffrida who played more of a key role in his most recent move from Inter to PSG.
