The Belgium striker established himself a regular in Anderlecht’s senior team during the 2009-10 season and he ended his debut campaign in the first-team as the Belgian Pro League’s top goalscorer with 15 goals.

During the same season, he also became the Europa League’s youngest ever goalscorer (since its rebrand in 2009) and he holds that record to this day. Lukaku scored his first goal in the competition during a 3-1 victory over Ajax in December 2009.

Iker Muniain is the second-youngest goalscorer in Europa League history after netting his debut goal in the competition for Athletic Club back in September 2009. He was 16 years, 8 months and 29 days old when he scored in a 3-0 win against Austria Vienna and he briefly held the record as the youngest Europa League scorer, before being usurped by Lukaku.

In third place is Jorthy Mokio. The talented Belgian scored during Ajax’s 2-0 victory over Union Saint-Gilloise in February 2025 aged just 16 years, 11 months and 15 days. It was only his third Europa League appearance and his first ever start.

The fourth-youngest Europa League goalscorer of all time is Desire Doue. The France winger netted an 89th minute winner for Stade Rennais against Dinamo Kyiv at the age of 17 years, 4 months and 3 days in October 2022.

Red Star Belgrade midfielder Vasilije Kostov became the fifth-youngest goalscorer in Europa League history on 2 October 2025 when he scored during a 2-1 loss to FC Porto at 17 years, 4 months and 21 days old.

Adam Maher is sixth after scoring his first Europa League goal for AZ Alkmaar aged 17 years, 4 months and 25 days. He netted the third goal in a 3-0 win over Bate Borisov in 2010.

Yusuf Demir features in seventh place on the list of the youngest Europa League goalscorers in history. He was just 17 years, 5 months and 3 days old when he scored in the 90th minute of Rapid Vienna’s 4-3 victory over Dundalk FC in November 2020.

The eighth-youngest goalscorer is Ante Coric, who scored his first Europa League goal during Dinamo Zagreb’s 5-1 win against Astra Giurgiu in September 2014. He was just 17 years, 5 months and 4 days old at the time.

Germany superstar Florian Wirtz and Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate Mikey Moore complete the top 10 after both scoring in the Europa League at the age of 17 years, 5 months and 19 days. The former netted for Bayer Leverkusen against OGC Nice in 2020, while the latter scored his first goal in the competition against IF Elfsborg in 2025.
