Real Madrid will make their first offer for Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise ‘soon’, with the France international star ‘obsessed’ with the idea of moving to the Bernabeu side.

Olise completed a €53 million transfer from Crystal Palace to Bayern two years ago, with the London-born winger quickly developing into one of Europe’s most devastating offensive players.

He has been linked with a number of major clubs due to his performances during the 2025/26 campaign, in which he scored 22 goals and created another 27 across all competitions, but Real Madrid’s interest is the most enduring amid efforts from Bayern to retain the 24-year-old.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez may have publicly denied the club’s interest in Olise, but the former Palace attacker continues to be heavily linked with the Bernabeu side via the Spanish media, while the message from France is that Los Blancos are preparing a first bid.

Olise ready to push for Real Madrid

According to L’Equipe, Olise has made it clear to Bayern that he wants to join the 15-time European Cup winners, and that will prompt the Spaniards to make a first offer following the conclusion of the World Cup.

Bayern have been firm in their desire to retain the Frenchman for at least another season, although they have identified PSG’s Bradley Barcola as a potential replacement.

It warns that the situation is complicated and that any resolution is “a long way off”.

If Real Madrid were to force through a deal, it would certainly represent the biggest sale in Bayern’s history, eclipsing the €45m transfers of Robert Lewandowski, Lucas Hernandez and Matthijs de Ligt to Barcelona, PSG and Manchester United respectively.

‘Selling Olise would go against everything Bayern want to do’

Bundesliga expert Ronan Murphy gave FootballTransfers his expert opinion on the situation and believes that Bayern will dig their heels in – even if Olise wants to leave.

He explained: “Bayern Munich don’t usually sell their star players. There are a few exceptions to the rule, like Toni Kroos to Real Madrid, but this is a club who values their best talent and usually pay them accordingly. Bayern are far more likely to hang on to players too long than sell anyone at their peak.

“Selling Olise now would go against everything the club want to do. Winning the Bundesliga is the minimum expectation every year for Bayern and their real goal each season is to lift the Champions League.

“They now have an attack they believe is capable of doing that and a coach they have full faith in after they broke the record for the most goals in a single Bundesliga season. Vincent Kompany’s side will likely get extra depth pieces this summer to support Olise, Jamal Musiala, Luis Diaz, and Harry Kane in attack. So maybe not even a world record fee could convince them to sell.

“Olise might be angling for a move to Real Madrid, but nobody else at Bayern Munich will want to help to make it happen.”
