Real Madrid make decision on €350m Vinicius Jr sale
Real Madrid are open to selling Vinicius Junior to Saudi Arabia this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a Santiago Bernabeu departure in recent months, amid ongoing contract extension talks, and Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli are reportedly preparing a €350 million offer.
Vinicius has just two years remaining on his current Real Madrid deal and although Xabi Alonso’s side are in negotiations to extend his contract, the 25-year-old’s wage demands remain a major stumbling block.
As a result, talk of an exit has intensified over the past few weeks and Los Blancos are now contemplating a sale, as per Fichajes.
The Spanish outlet claim that Florentino Perez sees Saudi Arabia’s interest in Vinicius as an opportunity to turn a huge transfer profit and he believes the Real Madrid squad could benefit from several transfers that would be possible if the Brazilian departs.
Vinicius scored 22 goals and provided 19 assists in 58 appearances last season, but he wants to earn a salary in excess of Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid are currently unwilling to match these demands. As a result, a sale appears to be on the cards this summer.
Who will Real Madrid sign this summer?
If Real Madrid opt to offload Vinicius Jr this summer, they will reinvest his transfer fee to sign a number of reinforcements ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Arsenal defender William Saliba remains a key target for Los Blancos, despite the summer signing of Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen, and French outlet L’Equipe have confirmed their interest in recent days.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez is Real Madrid’s first-choice midfield addition and reports speculate that an offer worth €150m is being prepared by Alonso’s side.
A centre forward will also be pursued if Vinicius Jr departs, with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko among the players linked with a Santiago Bernabeu switch in recent months.
However, the former is on the verge of joining Arsenal, while Manchester United are actively monitoring the latter ahead of a possible summer bid.
