Carlo Ancelotti appointed as new Brazil head coach - Ornstein

Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly been appointed as the new Brazil national team head coach and he will begin his duties on 26 May.
The 65-year-old has spent the past four years at Real Madrid, however he will leave the Santiago Bernabeu outfit following their final La Liga match of the campaign versus Real Sociedad in order to delve into international management for the first time in his career.
Ancelotti’s current deal with Real Madrid wasn’t due to expire until 2026, but all parties have reached an agreement to end his spell with the club this summer and he has now been appointed by Brazil, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
He has become the first foreign manager in Brazil’s history and he has been tasked with guiding the nation to their sixth World Cup triumph in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico next summer.
Ancelotti rejoined Real Madrid in 2021, following a successful two-year stint from 2013 to 2015, and he has won a total of 15 trophies across his two spells at the club, including the Champions League on three occasions.

Xabi Alonso to replace Carlo Ancelotti
Ancelotti’s replacement at Real Madrid has already been chosen, with Xabi Alonso poised to take over the reins at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
The former Spain midfielder spent five years as a player for Los Blancos and he will arrive as their new head coach ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Alonso has enjoyed an immense two-and-a-half year spell in charge of Bayer Leverkusen, but his move to Real Madrid has been confirmed and he will aim to fire Los Blancos back to Champions League glory next season.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to be confirmed as Alonso’s first signing at Real Madrid, while he reportedly hasn’t given up hope of bringing Florian Wirtz with him from Bayer Leverkusen.
