Barcelona are at the front of the queue to sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United, according to a report.

Greenwood was sent out on loan to Getafe at the start of the season, his reputation taking a significant hit after various rape charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The one-time England international has reportedly been told that he has no future at Old Trafford, but his performances in Spain have caught the eye of Barcelona among others.

Greenwood has tallied three goals and four assists from 14 La Liga games, and created 16 chances, and La Liga giants Barca are ready to bring him to Camp Nou.

"Barcelona are hugely interested in Greenwood, and are determined to bring him in," a source told The Sun's Henry Tomlinson. "Right now, they are leading the race and are at the front of the queue.

Barca scouts at Greenwood's last three games

"Scouts have watched Greenwood and have been tasked with deciding if he fits in with Barcelona's style of play. The overwhelming view is that he does, and that he would be a strong addition to the squad."

A left-footed right winger, Greenwood would play on the right of Barca's front three. Ousmane Dembele has already left for Paris Saint-Germain, while Raphinha has struggled to convince in the same position.

The nascent Lamine Yamal also occupies that position, but Greenwood's versatility could also see him proved cover for Robert Lewandowski up front.

Greenwood is valued at €17.8 million by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, and United are unlikely to ask for much more than that as they attempt to offload a player who remains a grave PR problem.

Barcelona are reduced to loans, free transfers and clever deals as they labour with a €1.35 billion debt that has at least been restructured.
