European giants join Real Madrid in Gimenez race

Following the lead of many European top clubs, AC Milan have also added Santiago Giménez to their wishlist, Tuttosport reports.

The Italian giants are looking for a long-term successor to Olivier Giroud, who has an expiring contract. The Rossoneri, it is claimed, would actually prefer Montpellier sharpshooter Akor Adams but now have the 22-year-old Feyenoord striker in mind if signing the Nigerian proves unfeasible.

Milan would like to add a new striker to their team already in January, but it is unlikely that they will be able to splash the cash. Interest in Giménez remains as high as ever.

Previously, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano already reported concrete interest from Tottenham Hotspur, who are said to be among the favourites to land the Mexican international. Inter, Real Madrid and Barcelona were also mentioned in the list of clubs that had Giménez on their wish list.

Milan's heir to Giroud

Milan are also keeping an eye on Giménez's actions. Feyenoord's goal-getter has been listed as an option for the departing Giroud. The Milanese had Adams from Montpellier as their first choice, but in Italy, it is expected that the French club will not cooperate for the transfer of the 23-year-old.

Adams came over from Lillestrøm for €4.5 million last summer and signed a contract with Montpellier until the summer of 2027. He has already scored seven goals in eleven matches this season.

In addition to Giménez, Milan also have Serhou Guirassy in mind. The Guinea international is on a roll in the Bundesliga after his permanent transfer to VfB Stuttgart and, just like the Feyenoord striker, is enjoying interest from the international elite.

Romano recently reported that he can be picked up from Stuttgart for a measly €17.5m in the winter due to a clause in his contract. It's a significantly lower amount than what Feyenoord reportedly want for Giménez.

Romano stated at the end of October that the Rotterdam club would demand €45m as the asking price for the striker. However, in the English media, there was talk of an amount of no less than €100m. Giménez extended his contract with Feyenoord last summer until 2027 and currently boasts a transfer valuation of €26.6m.
