Real Madrid are not prepared to let Kylian Mbappe embarrass them again in transfer negotiations.

Madrid made Mbappe their top target last summer but he eventually decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.

It is not often that a player rejects Los Blancos and it did not go down well with the Spanish club.

There have since been reports that Madrid are no longer interested in Mbappe but French radio station RMC Sport have said that this is not the case.

"If Mbappe wants to come, let him do the job," they were told by a source within the club.

It appears the La Liga champions remain enthralled by the idea of signing, arguably, the world's best player, but that Mbappe will have to make the first move this time.

The attacker, who has scored 15 goals in 15 games for PSG this season, is available on a free transfer in 2024.

Real Madrid face competition

Real Madrid's hopes of landing Kylian Mbappe threaten to be disrupted by Bayern Munich and Thomas Tuchel.

Mbappe will play for Bayern next season if head coach Tuchel has anything to do with it, as the former PSG boss wants to be reunited with the France international attacker.

"Do I want to sign Kylian Mbappe? Yes, yes, he's going to play for us, that’s clear," he laughed when speaking to Canal+.

"He’s extraordinary. If he wants to come, I’ll go pick him up by bike! But I think that's not going to be reality."
