'Here we go' - Ramos REJECTS Saudi Arabia for SENSATIONAL return to former club

Sergio Ramos has reached a verbal agreement to re-join Sevilla after 18 years away, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Ramos, 37, is currently a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in July and has chosen to sign for Sevilla amid proposals from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad and clubs from the Turkish Super Lig.

The Spaniard came through the academy at Sevilla and made 49 appearances for the senior side before joining Real Madrid for €27 million in 2005.

It was with Los Blancos that Ramos made his name and he left the club to join PSG after winning 22 trophies during an illustrious period in the Spanish capital.

However, Ramos is now set to return to his homeland, although not to Real.

Romano has reported that Sevilla have reached a verbal agreement to re-sign the 37-year-old on a short-term deal.

A move to Al-Ittihad looked all but secured, however Ramos waited for an offer from Sevilla, which duly came today. He has now agreed the move and will join the club shortly.

Ramos back to Sevilla

Ramos is set to become Sevilla’s ninth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Loic Bade (€12m), Dodi Lukebakio (€10m), Djibril Sow (€10m), Mariano Diaz (free), Orjan Nyland (free), Adria Pedrosa (free), Rafael Romero (free) and Boubakary Soumare (loan).

The veteran made his Sevilla debut in February 2004 and became the most expensive Spanish defender in history when he left the club to join Real Madrid.

Last month, club president Pepe Castro admitted that Ramos had “never been an option”, although it now appears as though the ex-Real Madrid captain will once again become a Sevilla player very soon.

The Spanish giants are rock bottom of La Liga having failed to pick up a single point in their opening three fixtures. They are the only club in the top flight in Spain without a point to their name so far.
