Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior saw his transfer value increase by more than 65% in 2022 to become La Liga and Brazil’s most valuable player.

The 22-year-old started the year with an expected transfer value (ETV) of €77.9 million to a high of €129.1m in December after scoring the winner in the Champions League final and featuring for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup.

Elsewhere, Aurelien Tchouameni was the Real player whose value had the biggest percentage gain in the last year, seeing his ETV go from €27.1m in May to a high of €64.9m since his transfer from Monaco in the summer – a rise of 139%

What Real Madrid players had their ETV change in 2022?

Tchouameni’s French compatriot Eduardo Camavinga also saw his value rise by more than 50%, going from €42.8m in June to €64.6m at the start of January this year to be considered the most valuable holding and ball-winning midfielder in the world.

Antonio Rudiger's move from Chelsea to Real in the summer saw his value shoot up by 67% to €50.6m from €30.2m, largely because he was in the last year of his contract with the Blues, meaning his ETV would be calculated considerably lower prior to signing a long-term deal with Madrid.

Rodrygo was another player who had a dramatic rise in ETV, going from €35m to €57.8m in a matter of months, a 65% increase.

However, it was not all good news for Real Madrid as record signing Eden Hazard saw his value plummet to a low of €11.8m due to his continued poor form and injury issues, having been worth more than €20m at the start of 2022.
