Xavi interested in bringing Youri Tielemans to Barcelona

Barcelona are looking to add to their midfield options in the upcoming summer and are looking for the most cost-effective solution possible.
The club don’t have as much financial freedom and they haven’t been helped by their early Champions League exit as they were knocked out in the group stages for a second consecutive season.
They can’t even activate more levers and that is proving to be a stumbling block for the club so they will have to look for more free transfers to help their squad.

As a result, they’ve now set their sights on Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans and are encouraged to make a move by their manager.

According to journalist Josep Soldado of La Sexta, Xavi is an admirer of Tielemans and would be interested in making a move for the player.
Tielemans’ contract at Leicester City expires at the end of the season and he will be available to talk to foreign clubs in the January transfer window once he’s in the final six months of his deal with the Foxes.

Apart from Barcelona, there is interest in him from several English clubs including Arsenal and Manchester United and the Blaugrana will face competition from them if they want to sign him.
The club currently have options like Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong and Franck Kessie but are still looking to strengthen as Sergio Busquets is set to depart the club soon.

Other than Tielemans, other players such as Wolves’ Ruben Neves are also being targeted but they may cost Barcelona a high fee, which they possibly won’t be able to afford.
Improving in midfield is one of the priorities for Barcelona while getting in another right-back is another of the priorities for the club as they look to build a more complete squad for next season.
