Alba has no intention in following Pique and Busquets out of Barcelona

Following the retirement of Gerard Pique and the expected departure of Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto at the end of the season, Jordi Alba’s future is up in the air.
Barcelona were looking to let Alba leave towards the end of the summer transfer window but were unable to agree a deal that would see him depart the club.
Valencia, his former club, were one of the interested sides looking to take him back and he was also offered to Italian giants Inter, but Alba refused a move.

Now, there are questions over Alba’s future but the player himself is looking for a way to remain at the Camp Nou in the next season.

Alba wants Barcelona stay
According to Lluis Mascaro, Alba wants to stay at Barcelona and would be willing to discuss new terms that would allow him to do so.
Despite the fact that game time has been hard to come by as of late as Alejandro Balde and Marcos Alonso have taken his position, the left-back wants to remain at Barcelona.

The major hindrance for Barcelona is that he is one of the club’s high earners and they are unwilling to negotiate new terms with a player that already earns so much.
According to reports in the summer, Alba was willing to take a wage cut in the summer but he wasn’t approached about it in the transfer window as Barcelona were looking to offload him instead.

He currently has a deal at the club until the summer of 2024 and next summer would be the last where Barcelona can get a small fee for him.
It’s also the final chance for Alba to negotiate new terms if he wishes for a stay – what’s clear is that there has to be a big wage cut in the works if he’s looking to remain at the Camp Nou.
