Real Madrid Endrick U-turn confirmed as €3m transfer agreed
Real Madrid have changed their stance on the availability of wonderkid Endrick following the outstanding performances of Gonzalo Garcia at the Club World Cup.
With the young Brazilian missing and Kylian Mbappe struggling with illness, Garcia stepped into the first team in spectacular fashion, leading Xabi Alonso’s side to the semi-finals of the competition. He scored four times in six games.
The Spain U19 star’s display has changed the thinking of the Bernabeu side with regards Endrick, who was signed last summer in a €47.5 million deal from Palmeiras.
While the 19-year-old had been considered part of the first-team rotation, he has now been made available for loan, according to Fichajes.
Real Madrid still maintain their belief that Endrick can become a top player after he scored seven goals last season, but they now believe his playing opportunities will be limited in the Spanish capital.
The decision to loan Endrick out is not seen as a backwards step but rather an “investment” in his future by the club.
The teenager will probably move out on loan to another La Liga side, with Real Madrid aiming to get him acclimatised to the league and able to return more mature and ready to fight for minutes.
Endrick has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €45m, but there are no indications that Alonso’s side are willing to listen to offers.
Real Madrid close to selling top young talent
Real Madrid are willing to allow another one of their leading young talents to leave, with midfielder Chema Andres poised to complete a switch to Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
Sky Sport Deutschland reports that there is already a verbal agreement in place for the deal, which is set to land Los Blancos a transfer windfall of €3 million.
Xabi Alonso’s side will have a buy-back option in the deal plus a 50% sell-on clause, meaning they will retain a strong interest in the progress of the 20-year-old, who will sign a three-year contract with the Bundesliga giants.
