Rudiger in, Coman out: What Bayern Munich need in January transfer window

Bayern Munich are one of the best run clubs in European football as they approach the January transfer window it’s unlikely that the German giants will be forced into panic buying.
However, despite the club’s best intentions, injuries, suspensions and unexpected sales do happen in the transfer window and need to be counteracted with new signings in a quick and stable manner.
Bayern may not be planning on having a busy January transfer window, but that doesn’t mean they can put their feet up and hibernate until February 1.

Goalkeepers
Bayern undoubtedly still have one of the best goalkeepers in the sport in the form of Manuel Neuer and that isn’t likely to change anytime soon. With Sven Ulreich and Christian Fruchtl in reserve, there shouldn't be any changes between the posts.
Defenders
Bayern lost two influential defenders in the summer in Jerome Boateng and David Alaba and did well to sign a replacement in Dayot Upamecano, but the club could certainly use another central defender. Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger has been heavily linked with a return to Germany but for now it seems unlikely.
If Bayern can get a decent offer for Bouna Sarr, they’ll undoubtedly sell the unused full-back, but besides that it’s unlikely that any more defenders would be leaving this month.
Midfielders
Bayern have already sold one midfielder in unwanted young talent Michael Cuisance and that’s probably going to be the extent of any players leaving the club from the middle of the pitch.
It’s true that Marco Roca and Corentin Tolisso are likely to move on in the summer, but for now they are needed to provide cover to Bayern’s more important players. Florian Neuhaus from Borussia Monchengladbach has been heavily linked with a move to Munich but it’s unlikely that Bayern would spend the money on him in January.
Forwards
Bayern are well stocked for forward players at the moment and that isn't’ likely to change at all this month.
The club have been linked with a move for RB Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi but he wouldn’t be likely to join in January, with very little space for another No.9 in the squad.
All eyes will be on Kingsley Coman and whether he commits his future to the club in the coming weeks. If not, Bayern may be forced to seriously consider offers for the France international - however, that is more likely to come to a conclusion in the summer.
