Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl is hoping to offer new deals to Matthias Ginter and Denis Zakaria before the end of the year.

Both Ginter and Zakaria have contracts at the Bundesliga side that are set to expire at the end of the season.

And due to their impressive performances for the Foals over the last 12 months, both have been heavily linked with moves to the Premier League.

Ginter has found his name linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, alongside interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Zakaria has seen his name linked with a move to Arsenal or Chelsea over the course of the last six months.

However, despite the huge amount of interest in his two star players, Eberl is hopeful of making them an offer to stay put beyond this season.

"Both players know how valuable they are to us. Accordingly, we will try in the coming weeks and months to convince them that Monchengladbach is still the right step for them," said Eberl in an interview with Sky.

"We have not yet presented any concrete figures, we have to calculate our own first.

“Corona is still there, but now we know where we stand and hope that the audience will increase again."

Will Gladbach keep Ginter?

While Ginter has been collecting admirers in Germany and England, it remains to be seen as to whether the defender would prefer to stay put or take on a new challenge.

And it seems as though the Bundesliga side won’t know the player’s intentions until they finally make him an offer and show him what terms they can agree to.

"I'm not haggling over anything. Without a contract offer, there is nothing to negotiate about. We have honestly never talked about numbers," Ginter told GladbachLive this week.

"There have been no concrete talks about an extension yet. As [Gladbach sporting director] Max Eberl has already stressed, there has been no offer."
