Shakhtar have an illustrious history of fielding talented Brazilians who are subsequently moved on for big money.

Douglas Costa, Willian and Fernandinho are just some of the names who have been with the Ukrainian giants over the years.

One player there at the moment who is expected to fetch a hefty fee is Dodo.

But, what kind of player is he?

Dodo plays as a right-back or right wing-back.

How good is Dodo?

Dodo actually started his career in Brazil as a forward which gives an indication as to where his talents lie as a flying full-back.

He is very much in the mould of a modern full-back in that he prefers galloping down the wing to contribute in the attacking area of the pitch rather than sitting back in defensive areas.

In the 2021/22 season so far he has already recorded four assists in 14 games in the league for Shakhtar.

Though he is probably a bit suspect defensively like most marauding full-backs, the importance of that position now means that he should be allowed to do what he does best.

What clubs are interested in Dodo?

Manchester United are apparently leading the race for Dodo and have been linked with the Brazilian since the summer as the club want a player to provide significant competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Over the last few weeks, though, Diogo Dalot has enjoyed some game time so it remains to be seen if Man Utd's interest will generate into a bid.

Tottenham had a bid rejected for him in the summer before turning their attentions to Emersoy Royal, while Inter were also interested before signing Denzel Dumfries.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move.

When asked in an interview whether he would like to play with Real Madrid, Dodo told the Pledge Times:

"It is one of the biggest clubs in the world and I am sure that all athletes dream of one day playing for Real Madrid. I am happy at Shakhtar and I plan to have a great season at the club. I think you have to think about doing the present well in order to plan for the future."
