PSG’s summer transfer fans seem likely to revolve around keeping Kylian Mbappe happy – and a move for Manchester City start Bernardo Silva could kick things off.

Next season could be Mbappe’s last with PSG: he’ll become a free agent next summer if he doesn’t trigger the option of an extra year in his contract.

And Ligue 1 champions appear to already be taking steps to ensure the France star extends his stay at the Parc des Princes.

According to Le10Sport, Mbappe himself wants PSG to sign Silva – who played a key role in Man City’s 2022/23 treble success, which culminated with victory over Inter Milan in last Saturday’s Champions League final.

The Portuguese winger has frequently been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium in recent transfer windows, but City would surely fight tooth and nail to keep hold of one of their key creative presences.

Per our in-house Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) model, Silva is currently worth €76.4m – more than four times what City paid to sign him from Monaco six years ago.

Last man standing?

With Lionel Messi leaving for Inter Miami when his contract expires at the end of this month, and Neymar being touted as the latest star to head to the Saudi Pro League, Mbappe could be the last man standing from PSG’s superstar front line come the start of next season.

And that might only make his importance to the club all the more pronounced – something fellow France international Christopher Nknunku seems to understand. The RB Leipzig striker said: “Must PSG build everything around Mbappe … next season? Yes.”
