Harry Maguire's Manchester United future is on a shaky nail, and now the club are keeping tabs on his England teammate, AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori, according to reports.

Maguire remains United's club captain for now, but the writing appears to be on the wall at Old Trafford for a player who remains the world's most expensive centre-back following his £80 million arrival from Leicester in 2019.

With Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez injured, the England regular could play much of the Red Devils' season run-in, but having been culpable as United were beaten 3-0 by Sevilla in the Europa League on Thursday, there was another explosion of reports about him leaving the club.

Maguire remains first-choice at the back for England, ahead of Tomori, but it appears Erik ten Hag sees things differently to Gareth Southgate.

Tomori impresses Man Utd

"Tomori's impressive season has garnered attention from Manchester United and Tottenham who are both keeping tabs on the defender," report the Daily Mail.

"But Milan are keen to keep Tomori and he still has over four years remaining on his contract, meaning it would take a huge offer for them to even consider selling one of their biggest assets."

Tomori is valued at €41.7m by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, which isn't prohibitively expensive for a club like United, but Maguire could even be used as a makeweight to bring the Chelsea academy graduate back to England.

"There has been Premier League interest [in Maguire]," report 90min. "Though Juventus, Milan and Inter are all interested in potential loan deals with options to buy.

"Maguire's camp are understood to believe Serie A could be an ideal landing spot for the player if he is to leave Old Trafford."

Maguire is now valued at €29.8m by FootballTransfers - €11.9m less than Tomori. If he was used as a makeweight, Milan would likely demand more than that difference up front as unlike United, they want to keep their centre-back.
