Transfer Rumours: Man Utd 'totally convinced' to sign breakout €50m wonderkid
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 9 October, including the latest updates on Noni Madueke, Jarrell Quansah and Assane Diao.
Madueke emerges as target for European sides
Noni Madueke has emerged as a target for a number of European sides after losing his place in the Arsenal team this season, The Telegraph reports.
Madueke has played just 23 minutes of Premier League football this season and it is claimed that other clubs are monitoring his situation in the hopes that they could broker a loan move for the 24-year-old in January.
In particular, Juventus have been long-term admirers of Madueke, while the winger’s name came up in talks with Atletico Madrid during the summer as part of a deal for Julian Alvarez, which could be revisited in January.
More teams are expected to enter the race for Madueke if he becomes available, although it remains to be seen whether Arsenal would consider his departure midway through the season unless they can sign an a replacement such as Alvarez.
Man Utd turn to Belgium wonderkid as Shaw successor
Manchester United have made an enquiry over Joaquin Seys, with the Red Devils being one of a number of teams across Europe that are monitoring the Club Brugge youngster.
Seys was considered as a long-term successor to Luke Shaw at left-back during the summer, however United opted against a move in the hopes that they could sign their number one target in Newcastle’s Lewis Hall.
Hall has since signed a new long-term contract with Newcastle, leading to more interest in Seys, who is said to have impressed scouts after they watched him in action last month, according to TEAMtalk.
Brugge were unwilling to sell Seys on the cheap during the summer and their stance has not changed over the Belgian international, who is thought to be valued at around €35m.
Man Utd ‘totally convinced’ by Diao
Manchester United are said to be ‘totally convinced’ in signing winger Assane Diao after the 21-year-old’s impressive start to the season with Como.
Diao has two goals and an assist in five Serie A appearances so far this season, already matching his output from last year, and the Senegalese international has attracted the attention of Aston Villa, Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton and Brentford as well as United.
According to 4-4-2.com, scouts from United have been to watch Diao three times this season already and have been impressed by his dynamism, speed, and robustness.
Diao still has three years remaining on his contract and Como are yet to receive any formal approaches for the youngster, with the Italian side having no financial pressure to sell, meaning a fee of more than €50m will be demanded.
Quansah doesn’t want Liverpool comeback
Jarrell Quansah is said to be reluctant to rejoin Liverpool next summer despite his former side having a buy-back clause for the Bayer Leverkusen defender.
Quansah joined Leverkusen last year for €35m and he has since attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea after being part of England’s World Cup squad this summer.
Liverpool have an option to buy back Quansah for €70m next year but Football Insider claim that the 23-year-old has no intention of returning to Anfield despite personal terms already being in place.
It is alleged that Quansah is uncertain about the amount of first team football he’d get at Liverpool, which was the reason he left, and that he would prefer a new challenge altogether if he were to leave Leverkusen.
