Transfer Rumours: Chelsea make Malo Gusto sale decision as agreement imminent
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 8 October, including the latest updates on Malo Gusto, Rio Ngumoha and Dani Olmo.
Gusto decision
Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto could become "more readily available" in January, Dean Jones understands.
The France international was linked with a late-window exit from Chelsea in the summer, with Man City and Liverpool exploring his signing before baulking at his cost of more than €80 million.
Gusto could still leave West London in January, with the Blues potentially "reevaluating" their asking price. His situation remains "one to watch" despite featuring prominently so far this season.
Ngumoha agreement imminent
Liverpool are "confident" that Rio Ngumoha will sign a fresh contract "soon," Football Insider writes.
The 18-year-old has become an increasingly important player for the Reds over the past year, and with his current deal set to expire in 2028, discussions over an extension are ramping up.
Despite reported interest from Arsenal, Ngumoha is happy to stay at Liverpool. His representatives are determined to get him a contract that reflects his growing stature at the club.
Olmo interested confirmed
Bayern Munich remain interested in Barcelona attacker Dani Olmo, Mundo Deportivo has confirmed.
The Spaniard has been a long-standing target for the Bavarians dating back to at least 2024, and it was recently claimed that a January move could be on the cards.
However, while the Spanish outlet has been able to corroborate Bayern's admiration for Olmo and the fact that they are gathering information on him, it insists that Barcelona have not received an approach from the Bundesliga side or any other club.
Truffert battle
Liverpool have joined the race to sign Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert, as per TEAMtalk.
The France international has emerged as one of the standout players in his position in the Premier League, and he hugely impressed for France during the recent international break.
Truffert is known to be a key target for Man Utd in their search for a new left-back, but Liverpool are now also in the mix to sign him, with the defender having previously starred under Andoni Iraola.
Tottenham eye Spain star
The same outlet also asserts that Tottenham have "stepped up" their pursuit of Espanyol striker Roberto Fernandez.
The 24-year-old has started the LaLiga season in red-hot form, scoring six goals in seven games for the struggling Catalans and earning his Spain debut against the Czech Republic last week.
Spurs are in the market for a centre-forward and have taken a liking to Fernandez, whose physicality is believed to be well-suited to the Premier League. He is one of several strikers they are currently considering.
