Cole Palmer banned from gaming platform after EA Sports FC 27 blunder

Cole Palmer has been banned from Twitch.

The Chelsea midfielder went live on the streaming platform on Tuesday afternoon and spent more than an hour playing EA Sports FC 27. The problem is that EA Sports FC 27 hasn't been released yet.

It's not released worldwide until 26 September, with early access beginning on 18 September.

EA Sports had actually planned to broadcast their own video showing gameplay later that day. The game's official account appeared in his Twitch chat during the stream, writing:

"Errr Cole, weren't we going to do this a bit later? We'll be live at 6 p.m. UK!"

Palmer's streaming of the game was swiftly ended and his Twitch account suspended.

He later pleaded for EA Sports and Twitch to overturn the ban, writing on Instagram and tagging the organistions: "I was only giving the people what they wanted ... unban me pls."

It doesn't seem the ban is permanent as he later posted on socials "we back soon" in regards to Twitch.

During his streaming session, he complained about his own avatar in the game and some of the ability ratings he's received.

"I need a word with EA. They took two ratings off me," Palmer said during the stream after discovering we went from an 87 overall rating to an 85.

"I had one leg for 10 months last season, what do you want me to do?"

Palmer's team-mate and best pal, Morgan Rogers, has a higher pace setting than he does and he took umbrage with that, too, saying:

"I don't know how he's got more pace than me but, EA sometimes, man, they're a bit crazy."

Palmer's reference to his fitness last season is to do with a few spells on the sidelines due to a groin problem, pubalgia and a broken toe.

"The first few months, with me being injured, I just wanted to go out and play, which I probably shouldn't have done," he previously explained to Sky Sports.

"Obviously, I couldn't play how I wanted to play. It was a bad season, personally, with injuries and stuff, but I feel good now. The seven weeks obviously helped. I'm ready to go again."
