Chelsea keen on €58m World Cup star who sits on Man Utd wishlist
Chelsea are weighing up whether to make a move for West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, according to reports in Italy.
The Athletic understands the Blues are keen to sign a versatile attacker ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League season.
Chelsea are admirers of Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, according to The Telegraph, though the England international is valued at €152million (£130m).
And now Italian publication Il Resto del Carlino claims Chelsea are running the rule over Summerville as a cheaper alternative.
The same publication claims Xabi Alonso’s side are also considering the merits of Bologna’s Jonathan Rowe and Sporting CP’s Francisco Trincao.
The Athletic understands Manchester United are also plotting a move for Summerville following West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League.
Summerville was a standout player for the Hammers in what was an otherwise torrid 2025-26 season for the club.
The 24-year-old scored seven goals for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who dropped down to the Championship after finishing 18th last season.
Summerville also caught the eye for the Netherlands at the World Cup, scoring two goals and recording as many assists in four games.
The Athletic claims the former Leeds United attacker, who Liverpool are also reportedly keen on, could be available for around €58m (£50m) this summer.
Chelsea also keen to sign two new defenders this summer
A separate report from BBC Sport claims Chelsea are also hoping to sign a centre-back and a left-back before the start of the new season.
The same outlet claims Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix and Rayo Vallecano’s Pep Chavarria are at the top of their wishlist.
Chelsea have already backed manager Alonso with the signing of highly-rated Italy defender Marco Palestra from Atalanta.
The 21-year-old, who was named as Serie A’s Best Defender for 2025-26, signed a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Alonso’s side have also been busy in regards to outgoings, with Marc Cucurella and Tyrique George having joined Real Madrid and Everton respectively.
Chelsea are also on the verge of selling Andrey Santos to Man Utd for a fee in the region of €58m (£50m), according to The Athletic.
