Paz snubs Real Madrid

Como sensation Nico Paz has turned down a return to Real Madrid, as per AS.

The 21-year-old looked set to be re-signed by Los Blancos this summer, and he reportedly dreams of playing a starring role for his former club, but he no longer feels that it is the right move for his career.

Considering that Real Madrid are signing Bernardo Silva and the other options already at the club, Paz feels that his development would be stunted. He has informed the Spanish giants that he wants to stay at Como, a move that has "changed everything."

Paz is wanted by several Premier League giants, but Real Madrid remain in control of the situation as they will have one final buy-back clause for the Argentine - set at just €10 million - next year.

Arsenal reach Kone agreement

Arsenal have agreed personal terms with AS Roma midfielder Manu Kone, Corriere della Sera claims.

The France international turned down a move to Atletico Madrid last month, but he is said to be keen to join Arsenal, who had already kept an eye on him during his time at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Roma are not opposed to selling Kone as they need to make a high-profile sale before 30 June to comply with UEFA's spending rules. It is claimed that €50m could be enough to secure a deal for the 25-year-old.

Chelsea make Palestra contact

Chelsea have enquired about Atalanta full-back Marco Palestra, according to Di Marzio.

The 21-year-old is coming off an impressive season on loan at Cagliari and has become one of the most sought-after commodities in Serie A. Atalanta are reportedly prepared to sell him for a fee in the region of €50m.

Chelsea have sought information on the youngster, but Palestra is believed to be keen to stay in Italy. He wants to join Inter, who are in talks with Atalanta over a fee after making him their top target to replace Real Madrid-bound Denzel Dumfries.

Iraola driving Diomande pursuit

Andoni Iraola has become "the new driving force" behind Liverpool's pursuit of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, TEAMtalk writes.

The new Reds head coach is "actively pushing" for the club hierarchy to sign Diomande. It is claimed that Iraola and sporting director Richard Hughes are on the same page when it comes to signing the 19-year-old winger.

Diomande starred for the Ivory Coast on his World Cup debut against Ecuador at the weekend, and Liverpool believe that he is the ideal successor to Mohamed Salah. "Constructive" discussions over a transfer have taken place.

Tottenham agree Van Hecke deal

Tottenham have agreed a €60 million deal to sign Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke, The Athletic understands.

A breakthrough has been reached after Spurs had two bids rejected by the Seagulls, with the second offer clocking in at just €40m. Personal terms are not thought to be an issue because the Netherlands international is keen to reunite with Roberto de Zerbi.

Chelsea have also been linked with Van Hecke, but unless something extraordinary happens, Tottenham will win the race for his signature. He will already be the third defensive signing by De Zerbi in this nascent summer window.
