Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has reportedly reached an agreement to join the Saudi Pro League this summer, but only if certain conditions are met.

The Egypt legend has left Liverpool after an illustrious eight-year spell at Anfield, with the club agreeing to let him depart 12 months early despite the fact that his contract wasn’t due to expire until 2027.

Salah was initially expected to leave the Reds following their Premier League triumph in 2024-25, but he eventually signed a lucrative new deal alongside fellow club legend Virgil van Dijk. However, Salah endured a tricky 2025-26 campaign and a stellar career at Liverpool officially came to an end following their 1-1 draw against Brentford on the final day of the Premier League season.

The Egypt attacker will be a free agent in July and it’s understood that he will make a final decision on his future after his participation at the 2026 World Cup in North America.

However, a report in the Marib Press claims that Salah has already reached an agreement to finally move to Saudi Arabia this summer on three conditions.

“Mohamed Salah has given his initial approval to pursue a professional career in the Saudi League, but only under a set of conditions that he considers necessary to complete the deal,” the report reads (via Anfield Watch).

“The captain of the Egyptian national team received an offer to join one of the Saudi league clubs, but the financial compensation offered was less than the offer he had previously received before renewing his contract with Liverpool FC.

“Salah stipulated receiving an annual salary and financial benefits commensurate with his status and marketing value, in addition to signing a contract that extends for two or three seasons to ensure stability in the next stage of his career.

“The Egyptian star also set a third condition, which is to move to a club that has a sporting project capable of competing for major titles and championships, and not just participating.”

Mohamed Salah to finally join the Saudi Pro League?

Salah has been one of the Saudi Pro League’s marquee targets for the past few transfer windows, but he has always snubbed the chance to move to the Middle East in favour of remaining at Liverpool.

However, he has finally departed Anfield and given he is now 33 years old, the vast majority of top clubs in Europe will be wary of offering him a lucrative contract, especially considering he only scored seven Premier League goals last season.

As a result, a move to Saudi Arabia, or perhaps the MLS, may be Salah’s most suitable next step, despite the fact he won the PFA Player of the Year award less than 12 months ago.
