Three of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are ready to take advantage of West Ham’s troubles as they monitor the possibility of a transfer for England winger Jarrod Bowen.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all tracking Bowen, with West Ham having been warned that that they could face the prospect of selling up to €115 million (£100m) worth of talent if they are relegated.

Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Tottenham on Wednesday offered the Irons a stay of execution, but they will go down on Sunday if they fail to beat Leeds at home or if Spurs pick up at least a point against Everton.

Bowen up for sale as West Ham face €115m shortfall

Bowen, 29, has been one of the club’s few bright points over the course of a difficult campaign for the Irons, with eight goals and six assists in his 36 Premier League appearances to date.

Although he is said to be settled in London, The Guardian reports that some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are considering the prospect of a summer move, while relegation would force the winger to consider his future.

West Ham’s asking price for the attacker, whose contract is up in 2030, is not clear.

What is certain, though, is that the East London side will be pressed into sales if they find themselves playing in the Championship. After reporting a loss in the region of €120m (£104m) last year, they are expected to have to make up that shortfall by player sales.

Bowen is one of the obvious options to go, but big money could also be attracted for Mateus Fernandes, who is wanted by Arsenal, Man Utd and PSG.

He is West Ham’s second-most valuable player behind promising centre-back El Hadji Malick Diouf. Bowen’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) sits at €36.8m, though West Ham will naturally hope to attract a bigger fee for the England star – particularly given the calibre of club interested in him.

Analysis: What’s Jarrod Bowen’s best move?

Bowen could be about to make the final big move of his career, so it’s one that he needs to get right.

Veering away from the top Premier League clubs that want to sign him – Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea – would be a good option, according to data analytics experts SciSports.

None of these clubs offers him a strong chance of making an impact, according to its Career Advice tool, which gives each team a Club Fit score, giving insight into the pros and cons of a transfer.

Of this trio, Liverpool scored best with a comparatively low 64, following by United (62) and then Chelsea (57).

According to this analysis, Bowen’s best hope is a move to Everton, who score 74. They can offer him ample playing time and David Moyes’ style would likely get the best from the West Ham star.

It may well be that Bowen doesn’t want to leave West Ham this summer, but the Hammers may just have left their push for safety too late – and it may be impossible for them to keep him.
