Tottenham Hotspur have reached a full agreement to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi on a free transfer in July, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

The north London side have been locked in negotiations with Senesi’s representatives since March and they have now struck a full agreement on personal terms, with the Argentina centre-back set to become Roberto De Zerbi’s second signing of the summer.

Senesi made 39 appearances across an impressive 2025-26 season for Bournemouth, playing a pivotal role as Andoni Iraola’s side qualified for the Europa League for the first time in their history after a sixth-place finish in the Premier League.

The Cherries were eager to extend his contract as they prepare for a tough European campaign, but Senesi had no intention of remaining at the Vitality Stadium, and Spurs have been the frontrunners for his signature for several months.

Tottenham endured a torrid campaign in 2025-26, however they escaped relegation on the final day of the Premier League season and they are ready to back De Zerbi in the transfer market this summer as they look to return to the upper echelons of the English top flight next term.

However, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have both been linked with a Spurs exit in recent months and the club have moved swiftly to finalise a deal for Senesi before the summer transfer window officially opens on 15 June.

“Marcos Senesi to Tottenham, here we go! Deal in place after the verbal agreement reported since March,” the aforementioned Romano posted on X.

“Four year contract for Senesi who’s set to put pen to paper soon and join Tottenham as [a] free agent. Another one after Robertson.”

Marcos Senesi to follow Andy Robertson to Spurs

Tottenham are yet to formally announce their first signing of the summer transfer window, but Senesi will become the second player to join the club before the start of next season after Liverpool full-back Andrew Robertson, who is also arriving on a Bosman deal.

The Scotland international was heavily linked with a Spurs switch in January and the north London club have now reached a full agreement to sign him on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Liverpool.

Spurs are expected to formally announce the signing of Robertson shortly, with the 32-year-old set to compete with Destiny Udogie for a starting berth at left-back next season.
