Rangers star makes transfer u-turn as next move confirmed
Mikey Moore has confirmed that he would like to return to Tottenham Hotspur next season, despite previously hinting that an extended spell at Rangers could be on the cards.
The 18-year-old moved to Ibrox on a season-long loan deal last summer and he has established himself as an integral player for the Scottish giants since the appointment of Danny Rohl as their new head coach.
Moore has scored six goals and provided two assists in 27 Scottish Premiership games so far this term, and Rohl has already admitted that he wants the England U19 starlet to rejoin Rangers for the 2026-27 campaign.
The Tottenham youngster has also fuelled speculation of an Ibrox return by admitting that he would “love” to remain at the club for another season, but he has now revealed that he wants to prove himself at Spurs instead.
The north London giants are in the midst of a relegation battle in the Premier League, having failed to win a single English top flight fixture since the beginning of 2026, and they have turned to Roberto De Zerbi to help them escape the drop.
Regardless of which division they are in next season, Moore has admitted that he wants to fight for his place at the club.
Confirmed: Mikey Moore wants to return to Tottenham
Speaking in a YouTube video posted on both Tottenham and Rangers’ club channels, Moore said: “I just want to go back to Tottenham and hopefully get myself a place in the team.
“Obviously we have got that experience of winning that trophy in the Europa League and that's what I want to do at Tottenham. I just want to bring them special moments to the fans, really.”
On his time at Rangers, Moore added: “For me, this is the best move I could have possibly had.
“I want to play under pressure and under expectation. I don’t like the idea of going somewhere and it just being another day. Any person you speak to who’s played for Rangers, it’s the same. Winning is just part of the culture and part of what these people are.
“It’s mad to play under that expectation and it’s perfect for a player like me. I want to play under that as a young player.”
