Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has “made peace” with the club’s hierarchy, according to his agent Javier Pastore.

The 25-year-old caused a stir while on international duty with Argentina last month by dropping several hints that he would like to join Real Madrid this summer amid significant rumours that Los Blancos are ready to pursue a deal.

Fernandez stopped short of confirming his desire to join the Bernabeu outfit, however he revealed that he would love to live in Madrid, while he also admitted his admiration for former Los Blancos midfielders Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Upon his return to Chelsea, Fernandez was sanctioned by the club for his comments and head coach Liam Rosenior confirmed that he would not be available for selection for their next two fixtures - versus Port Vale in the FA Cup last weekend and Manchester City in the Premier League this Sunday.

In response, Pastore took aim at the Chelsea hierarchy by stating his client’s punishment was “completely unfair”, while he also revealed that Fernandez will explore other options if the Blues are unable to submit a contract extension offer they deem acceptable.

However, the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has now admitted that Fernandez and Chelsea board have resolved their issues.

Confirmed: Enzo Fernandez ‘at peace’ with Chelsea

Speaking to French outlet Top Mercato, Pastore said: “What happened, happened. We explained to the player that, even if he did nothing wrong, he should not have said that. He is only 25 years old. He is still young and still has things to learn.

“We explained to the club that he said it without any malice and that he was wrong to do so. He naturally apologised to the club, his teammates, the manager, the sporting director, everyone. We are all on the same page. It was simply a matter of clearing up a misunderstanding.

“We are on the same wavelength with Chelsea. We made peace yesterday and the day before between Chelsea and the player. There was never really a problem. We have cleared things up.”

It has been reported that Fernandez is prepared to hand in a transfer request in an attempt to force Chelsea into a sale this summer, however it appears as though an exit is far from guaranteed following Pastore’s latest comments.
