Marc Cucurella has followed in Enzo Fernandez’s footsteps by admitting that he could be tempted to leave Chelsea during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Spain international has been an integral player at Stamford Bridge for the past few seasons, however he only has two years remaining on his current contract and rumours of an exit are set to intensify over the coming months.

Cucurella signed a new deal at Chelsea last summer, but the agreement only included a salary increase rather than extended terms, meaning his future is now in major doubt ahead of this summer.

It’s understood that he is one of several players that Chelsea would like to finalise a new contract with, in addition to Moises Caicedo and Levi Colwill, although the 27-year-old has hinted that he could be tempted to return to Barcelona, despite the fact he remains happy in west London.

When asked about a possible La Liga return while on international duty for Spain, Cucurella told reporters: “You always think about going back. I'm very happy there [in London], and so is my family. I'll leave it for a few years from now.”

However, Cucurella changed his tune when asked if he would consider rejoining Barcelona if Hansi Flick’s side approached him.

“It would be difficult to refuse,” he admitted. “It's not just about me. I'd have to think about my family. If it happens, it happens, and we'll see what decision is made.”

Chelsea risk losing their superstars

Cucurella is the latest Chelsea star to hint at a possible exit, with the aforementioned Fernandez also suggesting that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge when the upcoming summer transfer window opens.

Speaking after the club’s 8-2 aggregate loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Fernandez dropped a major hint that he could depart the club this summer. “I don’t know, there are eight games left and then the FA Cup,” Fernandez said. “Then there's the World Cup, and then we’ll see.”

Fernandez then added further fuel to the fire while on international duty with Argentina. When asked which city he would like to live in, the Chelsea midfielder replied: “I really like Madrid. It’s similar to Buenos Aires.”

Real Madrid want to sign Fernandez and it’s clear that he is pining for Los Blancos. Multiple reports have stated that he dreams of joining the Spanish giants and his comments suggest that he is no longer happy at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Cole Palmer has also been linked with a Chelsea exit amid rumours that he is “disillusioned” at the club. Manchester United are currently the frontrunners to sign him.
