Chelsea officials are reportedly discussing a €115 million (£100m) bid for Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers as they look to finally sign the England international this summer.

The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a Stamford Bridge switch in 2025, but the Blues were unable to finalise an agreement with Unai Emery’s side, and Rogers subsequently signed a new contract at Villa Park in November.

However, Chelsea remain interested in signing the ex-Middlesbrough attacker and football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Rogers is still regarded as a top target by the reigning Club World Cup winners.

Chelsea are expected to dip back into the market for attacking reinforcements this summer and Rogers has been earmarked as one of their priority options amid his immense form for Aston Villa.

The England star, who could play a starring role under Thomas Tuchel at the upcoming World Cup, has notched 10 goals and seven assists in 35 games so far this campaign, and Chelsea are now preparing an offer worth €115m.

That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Liam Rosenior has given the ‘green light’ to a blockbuster transfer as he looks to bolster the options at his disposal this summer.

Morgan Rogers to join Chelsea?

It’s reported that Rogers is open to joining Chelsea later this year, although he remains focused on performing for Aston Villa at current and will not rush into a major transfer decision during the 2025-26 season.

Villa are reluctant to lose the England forward, however a bid of €115m would reportedly force the Midlands outfit to consider a sale, despite Rogers’ immense importance to Emery’s system.

Chelsea recruitment chief Joe Shields signed Rogers during his time at Manchester City and it’s understood that he is one of the driving forces behind the Blues’ continued pursuit of the 23-year-old.

Rogers is close friends with Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer, while he also played with Liam Delap and Romeo Lavia in the Man City academy set-up.
