How Arsenal could help Erling Haaland secure blockbuster 2026 transfer
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made “discreet enquiries” about a potential swoop for Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland this summer.
The Norway international signed a lucrative new contract at the Etihad Stadium last year, with his new deal now due to expire in 2034, but rumours of an exit have continued to persist in recent months.
La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are both keeping close tabs on Haaland’s situation, as per reports in Spain, while PSG have now registered their interest in his signature ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that Luis Enrique’s side have asked to be kept informed on any developments regarding Haaland’s future at Man City as they eye a blockbuster summer deal.
PSG have also been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez amid rumours that Ousmane Dembele could depart this summer.
Arsenal have been tipped as a potential destination for the France international, as Mikel Arteta continues his pursuit of attacking reinforcements, and if the Gunners are able to secure a deal for Dembele, it could help pave the way for PSG to pursue Haaland.
Erling Haaland comments on Man City future
However, while Haaland continues to be linked with a Man City exit, there is little to suggest he will push to leave the eight-time Premier League champions this summer.
He will still have eight years remaining on his current deal when the 2025-26 season concludes, while the club are once again competing on all fronts this term.
Furthermore, when asked about his decision to sign a lucrative new contract at the club by The Rest is Football podcast in December, Haaland admitted: “The reason that I also signed it [is] because of conversations that I've had with the bosses and also the plan in the next years, and that was something I wanted to be a part of.
“I'm calm, I'm focused, and I'm really happy here, so it's a really good place to be for development and also in the end, England, it's a football country, and I think it's the best place to play football.”
Haaland has scored 29 goals and provided six assists in 37 matches so far this season, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €150.9 million.
