Palmer will not be sold, despite financial fears

Chelsea are optimistic that they will not be forced to sell Cole Palmer in the summer, despite the club making a record pre-tax loss of £355 million.

Palmer has been linked with a shock move away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, with Manchester United among the teams linked with the England ace. These rumours have only been further fuelled by the club’s financial results.

The Evening Standard reports that the Blues are confident that they will not be forced to sell star figures in order to comply with an agreement they made with UEFA in July 2025 following previous financial breaches.

Palmer, it claims, will not be leaving the club.

Chelsea monitor Genk trio

Chelsea are among the clubs tracking promising Racing Gent stars Zakaria El Ouahdi (24), Yaimar Medina (21) and Matte Smets (22).

Belgian source Sporza claims that the Blues were one of a number of leading European clubs who watched the trio in action in a 3-3 draw against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League on Thursday. There were a total of 23 scouts present for the game.

Centre-back Matte Smets would be a natural target for the Blues, with the 22-year-old Belgian boasting an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €18.4m.

Blues ready to give up on Delap

Liam Delap has been at Chelsea for less than a year, but the Stamford Bridge club are already willing to allow him to leave.

Although the former Manchester City and Ipswich forward has suffered from injury issues, he has not provided the type of return in front of goal that the West London outfit had hoped, and Football Insider claims that he will be allowed to depart.

Everton are thought to be leading the chase for the 23-year-old striker.

Nicolas Jackson to return after Bayern loan

Nicolas Jackson’s loan move at Bayern has failed and he will return to Chelsea in the summer, CFBayernInsider reports.

The 24-year-old Colombia international striker has featured 15 times for the Bundesliga leaders but has made only five starts. This has led to the striker becoming “frustrated” with his time in Bavaria, where he has no future.

Chelsea could look to sell Jackson to the Saudi Pro League, where there is said to be interest in him, although the player could look to re-integrate himself into the Blues’ squad.
