Julian Alvarez boost

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez in recent weeks, but he is reportedly not one of the club’s current transfer targets.

A number of elite European clubs have been touted as possible destinations for Alvarez, with Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea considered to be three of the teams closely monitoring his situation in Spain.

However, The Daily Mail now report that Alvarez is not currently on Chelsea’s transfer radar, despite multiple reports suggesting otherwise.

As a result, Arsenal are likely to only face competition from Barcelona for Alvarez’s signature this summer.

Raphinha decision

Barcelona winger Raphinha has turned down the opportunity to join Arsenal this summer in favour of remaining at Camp Nou, as per Fichajes.

Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs reportedly keeping tabs on Raphinha’s situation, however the winger is fully committed to Barcelona and Hansi Flick’s side have no intention of sanctioning a sale this summer.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to offer an “astronomical contract” to convince Raphinha to move to the Emirates Stadium, but the former Leeds United star is expected to snub Mikel Arteta’s side in favour of remaining at Barcelona.

Arsenal in Lewis Miley battle

Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City are all interested in signing Newcastle United youngster Lewis Miley, according to SportsBoom.

The England U21 international has established himself as a vital component of Eddie Howe’s squad this season and his progress is reportedly being closely monitored by a host of top Premier League clubs.

Borussia Dortmund have also been touted as a possible destination, although Newcastle are expected to block a sale amid concerns over the long-term futures of fellow midfielders Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes.

Arsenal target ‘needs to leave’ - Depay

Memphis Depay believes that Corinthians team-mate Breno Bidon must leave the club to fulfil his potential amid interest from Arsenal.

Reports in Brazil have named the Gunners as one of the top candidates to sign Bidon later this year and Depay has urged the midfielder to consider a transfer this summer.

“I talk to him a lot, he’s very intelligent,” the Netherlands international told SporTV (via Metro). He has great potential. He’s young, but very talented. He works hard, is focused, and has a strong mentality.

“He’s a special player, he needs to leave Brazil, not now, but soon. He also needs to be called up to the Brazilian national team. He has enormous potential, he’s very good.”
