Chelsea eye Mateus Mane

Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly among the clubs set to battle for the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers wonderkid Mateus Mane this summer.

His rapid ascent has unsurprisingly caught the attention of multiple Premier League clubs, with Chelsea and Man City among those looking at the teenager ahead of a potential deal this summer, as per Football Insider.

Wolves are currently rock bottom of the English top flight table, having picked up just seven points from 21 matches, and Mane is expected to receive significant transfer offers if they suffer relegation to the Championship.

Manuel Ugarte wants Man Utd exit

Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte is interested in a move to Ajax, according to Voetbal International.

The Amsterdam giants are focusing on acquiring an experienced holding midfielder who can improve their organisation in their own half and assist with build-up play this month, and sporting director Marijn Beuker has identified Ugarte as one of two favourites for the role.

According to the Dutch outlet, Ugarte is interested in a move to Ajax, but the main challenge lies in negotiating with Man Utd.

Chelsea to sell Leo Castledine

Chelsea have reached an agreement to sell Leo Castledine to Middlesbrough on a permanent deal.

The former England U19 international, who joined Chelsea as a six-year-old, has been in sublime form since arriving at Huddersfield Town on loan in August and he is now set to make the step up to the Championship with Kim Hellberg’s side.

Castledine struggled during a tough loan spell at Shrewsbury last year, but he has excelled this campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in just 27 games for Huddersfield and he will join Boro for an undisclosed fee, as per Fabrizio Romano on X.

Ethan Nwaneri makes Arsenal decision

Bournemouth have attempted to sign Ethan Nwaneri as a replacement for Manchester City-bound winger Antoine Semenyo, while Chelsea have also been linked with a move for him.

However, the teenager has turned down the opportunity to move to Andoni Iraola’s struggling side and instead believes he is better served sticking out the season in North London, according to the Independent.

The report states: “A loan is nevertheless seen by those close to Nwaneri as unlikely in this window. The player is understood to feel he can learn more as part of a serious title challenge - especially if Arsenal win - and is content to be patient and assess his situation at the end of the season.”
