Arsenal on the verge of agreeing new contract with Jurrien Timber
Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of reaching an agreement with Jurrien Timber over a bumper new contract.
The Netherlands international has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium and Mikel Arteta’s side have been locked in extension talks for several weeks as they look to finalise fresh terms with the ex-Ajax star.
Timber has established himself as an integral member of Mikel Arteta’s starting XI over the past 12 months and Arsenal are keen to reward his recent form with a significant pay rise.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Timber is set to be handed a lucrative new deal by the Arsenal hierarchy.
A full agreement is almost finalised and an announcement is expected to take place shortly, with the 24-year-old on the verge of becoming the latest Arsenal star to pen fresh terms at the club.
David Raya, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Leandro Trossard have all signed new contracts at the Emirates Stadium since the end of the 2024-25 season, and Timber is soon set to join that list.
In addition, Arsenal are also close to announcing Bukayo Saka’s contract extension until 2031, while the club are in advanced talks over a new deal for fellow England superstar Declan Rice too.
Jurrien Timber to sign new Arsenal contract
Timber has scored three goals and provided four assists in 26 games across all competitions so far this season, and he has played a vital role in helping Arsenal establish a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
After finalising contract extensions with Timber, Saka and Rice, Arsenal are then expected to turn their attention back to the transfer market.
The Gunners have identified Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi as a key midfield target for 2026, while they have also been tipped to pursue a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown, despite the plethora of left-back options already available to Arteta.
