Pulisic has been a revelation for Milan since joining them from Chelsea for €20 million in 2023 and finished as the club’s top scorer last season with 17 goals in all competitions.

The USMNT international has enjoyed a new lease on life in Italy by becoming one of Serie A’s standout players, which has led him to consider pushing for a step up to one of Europe’s elite sides next summer.

Pulisic’s contract with Milan expires in 2027 and they have been desperate to renew his deal since the spring and give him a payrise from €4.4 million annually to €5.5m net, such is his importance to the team.

However, Pulisic is aware that, at 28 years old, this could be his last opportunity to play consistent Champions League football – something which Milan have been unable to provide him thusfar.

According to calciomercato, Pulisic has been disappointed by the club’s failure to secure continental football this season and he is waiting for his ambitions to be met before committing his future to the club.

Could Christian Pulisic make a return to former lands?

Milan are currently third in Serie A and they are thought to have an option to extend Pulisic’s contract by a year but they would much prefer to agree to fresh terms.

However, should no agreement be found, they may look to reluctantly cash in on Pulisic in the coming months, with SciSports – who use data analysis to assess a player – believe a move back to the Premier League could be a feasible option for the forward.

While Milan are still outlined as Pulisic’s best overall fit, a move to Aston Villa or Manchester United could give him more playing time and suit his play style, although neither side have been consistently playing in the Champions League recently either.

With an ETV of €47.9m, a move back to the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich may provide the best compromise for Pulisic, particularly with Vincent Kompany’s side expecting to lose Serge Gnabry in the summer when his contract expires, giving them a like-for-like replacement and providing the American with the ambition and top-level football he desires.
